Turn right ahead

Turn right ahead

You must turn right at the junction ahead.

Mandatory Turns at Junctions

What should you do?

Check your mirrors, signal right early and move toward the centre of the road or the right-turn lane in good time.

How to recognise it

A blue disc with a white arrow going upward and then bending right.

Common confusion

Do not mix it up with the blue 'Keep right' sign, which has a diagonal arrow and is about passing an obstruction, not turning.

Explanation written by the My Driving Test editorial team using the Department of Transport Traffic Signs Manual conventions and the RSA Rules of the Road.
