Y-junction

Y-junction

Warns that the road ahead splits into two roads forking left and right in a Y shape.

Junction Signs

What should you do?

Reduce speed, read the direction signs early and position correctly for the fork you need, watching for traffic merging from the other branch.

How to recognise it

Yellow diamond with a black Y shape: a single stem dividing into two diagonal branches.

Common confusion

Not the same as the road divides sign, which shows a central island with traffic flowing in both directions on a dual carriageway.
