Obstruction between lanes

Obstruction between lanes

Warns that an obstruction or work area sits between lanes ahead, and traffic in the same direction passes on either side.

Warning signs for road work

What should you do?

Stay in your lane and pass on the side your lane leads, without cutting across in front of the obstruction.

How to recognise it

Orange diamond with an island shape at the top and two upward arrows curving around both sides of it.

Common confusion

Both arrows point up, unlike the central reserve sign, where one arrow points down for oncoming traffic.
