Taxi rank

Taxi rank

This area is reserved for taxis waiting for passengers; other vehicles must not park or stand there.

Regulatory Traffic Signs

What should you do?

Do not stop or park in the taxi rank, even briefly, and watch for taxis pulling out or doors opening.

How to recognise it

A red-ringed circle with the word TAXI in black and small arrows pointing left and right above it.

Common confusion

It is easy to mistake it for a parking sign; the red ring signals a restriction, meaning the space is for taxis only.
