Start of a climbing lane

Start of a climbing lane

Warns that an extra uphill lane starts ahead, so slower vehicles can keep left while others pass on the hill.

General Warning Signs

What should you do?

If you are slow, keep in the left lane; if passing, use the right-hand uphill lane and never cross into the oncoming lane.

How to recognise it

Yellow diamond with two upward arrows from a split on the left and a single downward arrow on the right.

Common confusion

The downward arrow shows one lane remains for oncoming traffic, unlike the passing lane sign.
