Dual carriage ends

Dual carriage ends

Warns that the dual carriageway ends ahead and the road becomes a single carriageway with two-way traffic.

General Warning Signs

What should you do?

Move into the single lane in good time and remember that oncoming traffic will now be on the other side of the road with no barrier between you.

How to recognise it

Yellow diamond with a black shape of two lanes narrowing into one, like a fork turned upside down.

Common confusion

It is not a lane-merge warning on a road that stays dual; after this sign overtaking means using the opposing lane.
