Slow lane sign

Slow lane sign

An extra lane for slower vehicles begins ahead, usually on a hill, allowing faster traffic to pass.

Advance Direction Signs

What should you do?

If you are driving slowly, move into the left lane, and if you are passing, take care when the lane ends and traffic merges.

How to recognise it

A white rectangle with black arrows showing a lane branching to the left, and a plate showing 200m.

Common confusion

It is not an exit sign; the extra lane rejoins the main road further on.
