What should you do?

If you are taking the exit, complete your observations and move into the exit lane when it is safe. Do not brake sharply or cross solid markings to reach the slip road.

How to recognise it

Two white diagonal bars on a blue rectangular background indicate the 200-metre motorway marker. Three bars mean about 300m and one bar means about 100m.

Common confusion

This marker counts down to the start of the diverge slip lane, not necessarily to the physical junction or the end of the motorway.
