T-junctions of a dual carriageway

T-junctions of a dual carriageway

Warns that your road meets a dual carriageway ahead at a T-junction, so you will join or cross a road with a central median.

Advanced Warning Signs of Roads

What should you do?

Slow down and prepare to stop; treat each carriageway as a separate road, checking right for the near side and left for the far side before crossing or joining.

How to recognise it

Yellow diamond with two parallel black horizontal bars (the dual carriageway) and a short stem from below that stops at them.

Common confusion

Compare with the crossroads with dual carriageway sign, where the stem passes through both bars because your road continues across.
